We Love Our Volunteers!

Week in and week out, your volunteers are pouring into the boys and girls at your church. They are…
- Manning check-in
- Giving out hugs and high-fives
- Teaching lessons
- Greeting kids with smiles
- Connecting with parents
- Leading small groups
- Engaging in games
- Prepping crafts
- Cleaning up messes
- Rocking babies
- Listening
- Pouring out the love of Jesus
- Making the Bible come alive
- And more!
You can’t do ministry without your team. Do they know that?
1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” You should be encouraging your team! Encouraging and building one another up is biblical! These are fellow Kingdom workers, faithfully giving of themselves and serving. Take the time to let them know that they are doing a great job and that what they are doing matters.
While we are to encourage one another, we are also supposed to love one another – and that includes your team! (Yes… even those harder to love team members.) Romans 12:10 reminds us to, “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”
Are you showing love to your team?
As we near a holiday all about love, I challenge you to make sure you show your volunteers some love and appreciation!
- Start with a verbal “Thank You!” Words of affirmation go a long way.
- Write them a meaningful note. Adults love happy mail, too! Write some cards or postcards, telling each volunteer what they mean to you.
- Give them a sweet treat! Little treats with cheesy tags are an inexpensive way to tangibly say thank you to your volunteers.
